Update for 2024: Things to do in Huntington Beach

Huntington Beach is all about having fun under the sun year-round. At Beach Boulevard of Cars, we invite you to explore one of Orange County’s most iconic locations to experience what city living by the beach can be. Although you can visit any day, coming during one of the following annual events is incredibly worthwhile.

Surf City Artisan Fair (two weekends in January and February)

When you’re looking for that one-of-a-kind gift to give to someone or take home for yourself, head for the Surf City Artisan Fair, which features local and regional crafters. Its Four Corners concept consists of gathering for locals and visitors to meet, giving for initiatives that emphasize philanthropy, being creative to inspire the imagination, and learning to discover different art forms.

Surf City Marathon (February 4)

Instead of riding the surf, how about pounding the pavement during the Surf City Marathon, which also includes a half marathon, 5K, and beach mile, so every member of the family can participate? You’ll feel the wind on your body and get ocean views as you run the primarily flat course from Pacific Coast Highway to Central Park. If you’re not up to keeping the 13.43-minute mile or better, you can encourage those who can by volunteering.

SURFscape 2024 (April 27 – 28)

If you hope to hang 10 off our shores, you’ll need to gear up at SURFscape, which highlights the latest trends for joining the party waves. This Surf Industry Members Association adventure puts over 100 leading brands in the open air, where you can join over 10,000 enthusiasts for hands-on demos. You’ll also chill to live entertainment, an art gallery, and delicious food trucks.

Chili at the Beach (June 15)

When the days turn hot, the food gets even hotter during Chili at the Beach, held around the first three blocks of downtown Main Street. Buy a wristband, and you can try over 20 chili contestant concoctions to help choose the People’s Choice Chili winner. Listen to live music, have the kids participate in special activities for them, and shop the vendors. Part of the ticket sales benefit Huntington Beach International Surf Museum and The Boys & Girls Clubs of Huntington Valley.

Surf City Spooktacular (October 31)

That chill down your spine isn’t coming from the fall night air but from the Surf City Spooktacular, which celebrates Halloween at Main Street. You and the kids can go trick-or-treat at participating downtown businesses before joining the Monster March parade as your favorite creature and then maybe winning prizes at the Costume Contest. Greet and meet the reps from the Huntington Beach fire and police departments and Marine Safety, and ride the exciting Boo Wave.

California Wine Festival (November 8 – 9)

Discover a new holiday beverage at the California Wine Festival, which has you sampling trophy wines that are out of circulation or hard to find. You can also taste artisanal bread, cheeses, olive oil, chef-created cakes, chocolates, salads, and more. Everything comes together inside and outside the luxurious Paséa Hotel & Spa, located where the sand meets the sea.

Check back here often at Beach Boulevard of Cars’ blogs for updates, and everything about cars, SoCal,  and Surf City USA.
