What are the best oils for your engine?

Oil gives life to your engine by lubricating its moving parts, preventing damaging friction, and encouraging smooth performance. During scheduled maintenance, the dealers at the Beach Boulevard of Cars in Huntington Beach, change your oil to prevent sludge from building up and affecting performance. Many of our automotive technicians keep your car operating at peak performance by relying on the following brands, ranked by quality.

  1. Mobil

From its founding as the Vacuum Oil Company in 1866, Mobil has expanded to become ExxonMobil, one of the leading producers of synthetic oils. They impress as the premium brand for NASCAR and Chevrolet Performance. Their Mobil 1 label offers a range of products that cover everything from hybrids to supercars, making them the lubricants of choice for Chevrolet, Honda, Nissan, and Toyota dealerships.

  1. Castrol

The name comes from “castor oil,” which was added to regular motor oil to endure high temperatures and cold starts. Their synthetic-blend or full-synthetic oils work well for high-performance vehicles. Castrol products are specifically designed to address many car manufacturers’ fuel-efficiency and emission-control goals, notably Ford, where the lubricant is used for Eco-Boost motors.

  1. Pennzoil

Pennzoil products attract attention at auto supply stores because their containers are bright yellow, which also appears on their sponsored vehicles at NASCAR and Indianapolis. Their lubricant is made from natural gas, which minimizes the impurities found in crude oil. On their website, the oil brand proudly proclaims that they are the only motor oil recommended by the Jeep brand in North America. Ram, Dodge, and Chrysler vehicles come from the factory filled with Pennzoil lubricant.

  1. Shell

Shell, which operates in as many as 70 countries, is as well known around the world for its gas stations as it is for its engine oil. Their products use additives to prevent contaminants from affecting the engine, making them a good choice for diesel and conventional gasoline engines. Their Helix product line covers mineral, semi-synthetic, and full synthetic options and stands out as the official oil for the Ferrari Formula One team.

  1. Other Brands

Many auto manufacturers put out their brands of motor oil, which are used by the auto dealer when servicing your vehicle because it optimizes your engine operation and maximizes fuel efficiency. Some examples include:

  • Mazda SKYACTIV-G 2.0 and SKYACTIV-G 2.5 engines demand Mazda Genuine 0W-20 Motor Oil.
  • Among the motor oils produced by Volkswagen are LongLife III FE for high-performance gasoline and diesel engines, LongLife IV FE for fuel economy, and “Special D” and “Special G” for engines with no particulate filter.
  • Subaru produces 0W-20 oil for non-turbo-charged engines and 5W-30 oil for turbos.

If the dealer stocks those brands in the Parts Department, you can use other oil brands for these vehicles on request.
