While a bit of a drive, Idyllwild is a beautiful little town with views of an amazing desert scrubland. If you go far enough in you get to see the alpine forest, with cute shops, eateries, and some serious ambiance. You can walk around Lake Hemet, and even bring the sleeping bags to camp on a gorgeous night. It does get a little chilly, so be sure to bring layers, but the cold is definitely worth the views, experience, and wildlife.

This is a top destination for sun-seekers and surfers and is known for its breath-taking sunsets and gorgeous sandy beaches. Laguna Beach is a 35-mile stretch of Pacific coast fringed with glorious golden sand where you can lose yourself for the whole day, soaking up the sun in this most picturesque of environments.
